School Council

In the council’s last meeting before half term, the coucillors designed another questionnaire for pupils to complete. The questions are all about the way pupils feel in school and what they think is good but also what could be improved. The answers can be very short or pupils can write longer comments if they want to. The council will be distributing the questionnaires in the first week of June. They will let you know when the collection date is.

The school council have discussed about the house system in school council meetings. The school council have decided that they are going to be 4 houses and they have been reading all of the questionaires that the school have filled in. The school council have worked hard on the house system and are still doing more. Everyone from year 1 until year 6 are going to be put in one of them. You will be awarded golden cards for good behaviour and yellow and red cards for bad behaviour.

The school council discussed houses at the meeting today. Miss Offord came to the meeting and gave us ideas on what it should be like. We came up with Sea Animals, Colours, Shapes, Planets etc. We wanted to make a questionnaire for the juniors to fill in. The children will be in houses from year 1 until year 6. The houses will compete in the school sports day with a house as 1 team. The houses will also be teams but without team leaders and prefixes.

  Today, on Tuesday 4 March 08 the School councillors performed an assembly. Everyone had to say a bit that they wrote themselves. We talked about how to use the folders to put your ideas in, who does what job, the council page on the website, where the agenda box is and where the council notice-board is.

We said that everyone can take part in the council by leaving ideas.
